SEQUENCE OF EVENTS

DAY 1
The riders arrived at Mandawa to complete their registration formalities, gear check etc. – and to familiarize themselves with the team of instructors and fellow riders alike.

DAY 2
The riders departed Mandawa for Bikaner. The total day’s riding was just short of 200 km – a mixture of sand and tarmac. Handling the bike on sand was the main course of the day, as the group encountered sand tracks within minutes of leaving the hotel. A challenging day for all.

DAY 3
Day 3 was a ride from Bikaner to Jaisalmer, totaling around 350 km. Tricky sand sections were par for the course, with the level 2 and even level 3 dunes at Mayakor, depending on the risk appetite of the riders involved. The dunes were truly a baptism by fire, but the riders completed the day far more confident on the tricky surface than when they began.

DAY 4
Day 4 comprised a mixture of dirt, tarmac and sand. Dune climbing techniques were explained in detail and riders spent the day acquainting themselves with the sand. The second half of the day comprised a beautiful tarmac stretch to and from the Longewala War Memorial.

DAY 5
The return leg from Jaisalmer to Bikaner was a challenging one. The day even included an old Desert Storm Stage to show the participants just how hard a sand stage in the afternoon heat can be! A certification ceremony and celebrations followed!

DAY 6
Riders departed for their respective destinations post breakfast.

Dhorra Kross imparts the fastest training for riding on sand, with riders going from paddling to riding standing in just 4 days! An unforgiving surface, the correct tutelage and backup is paramount to taking on the desert, and the riders went back with plenty of learning, new skills and memories alike.
